internal reflection
I think this is something that no one really talks about nowadays, no one really pays attention to the minor details. People forget that the minors create the majors, it’s the daily minor habits that shape who you are as a person, your entire personality depends upon how you use your time.
Your habits show up as a part of your personality. A persons ignorance shows what he does in his free time, a person who listens really well, talks with respect and intelligence doesn’t just inherit it, it’s built when you’re all alone.
Who you are behind closed doors holds a lot of importance in your life, don’t neglect it.
A truly happy person is the most disciplined human you’ll ever meet. Discipline is the highest form of self love.
Only a disciplined person is truly free, everyone else is just a slave to their emotions and impulses.
Your body language, posture, speaking habits, general habits all curate a subconscious mental image in others’ heads. Simple things like standing before shaking someone’s hand talks more about your personality than your words ever could.
I’ll be turning 20 soon, and the most important thing that I have learned is that words hold no power at all relative to your actions. Most people say something else and do something else, they’re contradictory, that’s how you can spot mentally weak people, you shouldn’t keep such people around you because their habits slowly start rubbing off on you.
A person with a disciplined and hard working friend is more likely to succeed compared to the one living with a deadbeat who sits all day and does nothing about his life while liking all the motivational posts they come across.
They might be a good friend to you but with time you’ll realize that it creates a negative environment for you.
Cotton cannot grow in any other soil except black soil ( I think ), it’s environment decides whether it grows or not. You might have the sprouting power within you, but the people around you determine what path you’re going to lead.
You’re more likely to gossip around people who do it without remorse and as if it’s a normal thing, they justify it by saying that it’s a fun way to spend time with friends and a little gossip never hurt anybody. It is a great sin, you can read any holy book from any religion you come across and it is considered a major sin.
So why be around such people?
What is the need to please their egos, leave them be, once you leave toxic situations and tables, you understand how important it is to have the right set of friends.
Your friends should push you to do better, they shouldn’t be guiding you into the dark with them. If I ever tried skipping the gym, my friend would pull me with him and eventually I’d agree to go but if you’re with an undisciplined person, they’ll agree with you and you’ll miss your workout.
That is the difference, a good friend can completely change your life around.
People do not self reflect anymore, they go on to live their mundane lives while chasing bits and pieces of hedonistic happiness, quick dopamine spikes, so on and so forth.
I’ve broken countless friendships because of this, their ignorance would genuinely haunt me.
They’re more likely to betray me if they can’t even live up to their own word. They would betray themselves within a second, so why won’t they do it to me?
You have to stay safe from such people, even if they’re your friends, you must try to tell them and hope that they change, or simple outgrow them.
Internal reflection can genuinely change your life, it shapes you into a better human being. You think better, you feel more and you become empathetic. Why wouldn’t you wanna do it?
It does take a lot of effort though, you have to pick out on your own mistakes, which people cannot do anymore because they’re so self absorbed and their egos are higher than the mount everest, spotting their own mistakes would cause immediate death.
After you read this, I hope you reflect on your personality and who you are as a person, learn more about yourself. Start loving yourself more, and spread as much love as you can into the world.
Have faith,
With love and gratitude,
