do it for the lore
Everything that you do, you must do for the lore.
What are you gonna tell your kids when you grow up? You need to live life to its fullest extent. You’re probably in your prime right now, you’re young, you can make as many mistakes as you want as long as you learn from them.
You need to be out there making memories.
You need to be out there experiencing things, don’t worry about right or wrong as long as things are in moderation.
You need to build a life but you also need to live. Your 20s are for fucking around and finding out.
Go on that trek, get lost in the woods, have a beer with a friend, sneak out at 2 am, laugh about dumb things, fall in love, maybe even go through a near death experience.
I’ve done all of these things since I’ve come to college, I have been living life while building my career and also doing things that will make my parents proud (apart from the obvious stuff that they can’t know about haha)
I feel really bad for those that are wasting the golden years of their lives by sitting at home all day, being shy to make moves and being afraid to judgement. People are gonna judge you anyway, people get judged for doing right and wrong both. You’ll get judged for smoking, you’ll also get judged for being a nerd, there’s no end to the criticism. So why not live the way you want to?
I recently got lost in the woods at night, it was really dark and it started raining heavily. We couldn’t figure out where we entered the trail from. It was a scary experience for everyone there, except me. Deep in my heart I knew I’m going to make it out alive, and it’s gonna be a hell of a story. I still remember the adrenaline coursing through my veins, the excitement in my mind and the soreness in my legs. Core memory.
To do these things, you have to get out of your home, you need to have the courage to move ahead in life despite whatever is going on in your life.
Staying home all day creates a negative environment for your brain, it starts brewing depressive thoughts that will trap you into a loop which will be very hard to get out of. You sit at home and pray for miracles, but god can only steer the wheel, who’s going to press on the pedal?
You need to flow, you need to be like a river, you must keep propelling forward in life, there’s always something better waiting for you in the future as long as you have hope. If you think negative things, expect negativity in your life, don’t be surprise when God gives you what you ask for.
I randomly just went on a 10 km ride, on a hill at 1 am, had fun, it rained in between and I wasn’t prepared, felt the cold wind hitting my face and everything felt alright. Wherever there are spontaneous plans, count me in. I’ve gone to a beach at 3 am with 2 other people on one scooter, I’ve snuck out of my home at 3 am for a ride with my friends, bunked college to go jump in a waterfall, all of it was spontaneous, none of the good memories were planned. It gives me a kick, I love the thrill, the adrenaline, the thought of not knowing what’s gonna happen next is what keeps me rolling.
There’s also a lot of dumb stuff I’ve done, but they just made me a better person, gave me more lessons, more experience, and the most important, memories. Everything that I do is for the lore, and the universe loves it when you’re enjoying life, you get rewarded with more by doing more and giving it your all. It’s very magnetic to enjoy life.
Depression hates a moving target, but that doesn’t mean you avoid your feelings. Always process whatever you’re going through, understand that everything is an experience and nothing is meant to stay in your life forever. The faster you move on, the better. God will take away people, things, money, opportunities to teach you things, and once you’re done learning your lesson, he will give you things that you couldn’t even think of.
Don’t sit home and miss out on life, there’s so much to do out there. Punishing yourself and staying in guilt won’t help, the faster you move on from things, the better things get. You’re supposed to keep looking ahead, it’s fine to peak in the rear view mirror once in a while but you’ll never live life properly if you keep living backward, forget the bad things, erase them from your head and start fresh, fortune favors the bold.
And amidst it all, don’t forget to smile.
With love and gratitude,
Harshit.

Absolutely love this. Why listen to endless criticism about how you should live your life? You get to decide what shape your life takes and live it as fully as you want. After all, life is meant to be experienced. Thank you for sharing ✨
This was genuinely so inspiring; I'll have to keep coming back to it to remind myself that I need to keep getting out! Thank you for steering me here!
